Improving Search Engine Optimization

Do you want to rank number one on google and increase the number of visitors to your website? If so, you are not the only one! There are various ways to do this, but in this article I

will cover some of the best tried and tested ways to get more targeted visitors from the search engines.

Analyze your Website Statistics

There are some great tools available through Google such as Google analytics and Google Webmaster tools. These can help you to see how well your site is doing. How many visits

are you getting? What keywords are people searching on?

Do they match what your site is really about? You need visitors that are targeted, which means interested in what your website offers. If you use irrelevant keywords, they will not help

to increase your sales.

Compare Your Website to Your Competition

Check each major search engine and find out where your site stands in their rankings. Then set yourself some realistic goals for improving your search engine ranking incrementally.

Different search engines use different ranking criteria so you may want to consider using slightly different techniques for each one. Take a look at the highest ranking sites in your

category. What do they have that you do not?

You can get inspiration from these sites. You may see that a top ranked site is using a blog successfully. The blog keeps new content flowing into the site, and attracts return readers

through frequent postings and interesting information.

Carefully Research Your Keyword Phrases

You must chose your keywords carefully when you began your site. But it makes sense to re think these from time to time. The popular thinking regarding your sites topic or business

may have changed. Try to keep your sites content relevant to what is currently happening.

Make Your Site Visitor Friendly

Make your writing clear and to the point, with an easy path from product description to buying process. Create a site map to help your readers follow their interests throughout all the

sites pages.

Get a Domain Name with Your Keywords. Your domain name should contain your main keyword if possible. This keyword should be repeated in tags, and sprinkled throughout your

sites content.

Build Backlinks to Your Site. You will need to spend a lot of the time building high quality links back to your site. Be sure to get links from lots of different types of websites and use

your keywords in the link anchor text.

Be Sure To Use Social Media. The popularity of Facebook and other social media sites can be harnessed to bring visitors to your site. Create a presence on Facebook, Linked-In,

and other appropriate sites. This will increase your visibility.

You want especially to draw the visitors who are looking specifically for the product or service you offer. Tailor your SEO to the niche you want to create, and you will find search

engines bringing not only visitors but customers to your site.

SEO is an ever changing business where what works one month might not the next and possible hurt your site in the not too distant future. This is why SEO experts need to always know everything they can about what people and search engines are looking for and how to supply it.

When working on SEO the most important aspect is to optimize for people, not just search engines. With the way people’s live and therefore search engines  algorithms change we have comprised a list of how we believe SEO will need to adapt in the near future.

Bing will have a slight increase in use but still remain less than 20% of searches to Googles 80+%

Bing and Yahoo together have roughly 30% of the market for searches in the US while Google maintains a steady 65%. Bing does show some promise with long tail queries and should see a slight increase in the number of users in the near future.

SEO without Social Media will become a thing of the past

SEO and Social Media Marketing have known each other for year. Similar to the way SEO without link building faded away in 2000 it looks as if SEO without social media ties will be the next to go.

Not only is the social media content making their way into the ranking algorithms, but it is also becoming a dominating force for sharing and discovering for its users. Link building will remain strong for some time but it appears that those who are not using Social Media for SEO purposes are riding the wave until it crashes.

Google SEO and Google+ could be a near necessity

Google has started to add Google+ brand pages in search results, they have also made Google+ circles and +1s visible in their SERPs. It appears as if they are trying to tie the two together to not only boost usage of their social network, but also work with the previous statement of tying together social, ranking and visibility (non-spam) together.

Keyword ‘Not Provided’ Will Rise to 25+% of Google Searches

Google has made a statement that missing keyword data will stay below the double digits, However a lot of people remain skeptical about this claim in that they have been working hard to adopt Android, Google+ and other Apps and Gmail into the mainstream which will most certainly increase the percentage of not provided searches. All we can do is wish that this utilization of not provided data will roll back, unfortunately that doesn’t appear to be the case.

These are just a few studies of what is believed to come in the future of SEO. With Social Media Marketing and Search Engine Optimization becoming more intertwined it will provide an interesting playing ground for the SEO service providers in the future. I’m sure just as they did before, they will adapt with the ever-changing, ever-growing world of internet marketing solutions and business.

How To Rank On The First Page Of Google

If you looking for an easy way to rank on the first page of Google…without having to spend any money on pay per click ads? Sick and tired of having no one visit your site, service or offer?

Even worse…are you just about ready to give UP completely because you cant make any money (or MOMENTUM) online?

If so…..continue reading as I share one of the EASIEST ways I know of for ANYONE to get first page rankings in a few short days. (almost guaranteed) Curious? Lets take a closer look..:-)

Isnt Pay Per Click the ONLY Way to Get a New Site on the First Page of the Search Engines Within a Day or Two? Absolutely not, no.

There are LOTS of tricks to get good rankings, but my absolute FAVORITE for newbies is what I call the page rank piggyback.

Okay….but what IS page rank piggyback?

It is when you BORROW, or leverage the trust that other sites have already earned in the search engines, usually as a function of either age or authority, and put YOUR content on those site instead of your own.

An Example?

Sure….THIS article is actually an example. Im not putting this on my blog or website. Im submitting it to a high ranking article directory that I KNOW gets indexed very quickly, and favorably, by the search engines.

This article will most likely be in the top 5 or 6 spots for my keyword phrase of interest in the next few days, and while it may not stay there for long, it will definitely be there long enough to add value to my business. (and often….it can stick at the top of the results for weeks, months and even years!)

A quick bonus tip:

Use this leverage to build your list….pure and simple. This is a strategy of SCALE….meaning the more content you have that ranks well using this approach, the more eyeballs are going to get in front of your offers.

Ive build lists of THOUSANDS in a matter of mere days this way…..and in some niches, Ive built entire income streams off of this approach alone. It works for me….it works for others I know and it WILL work for you as well!

Rank Number 1 On Google

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves choosing the most appropriate targeted keywords and phrases that relate to your website or blog. The entire goal of this process is to ensure that your page(s) rank highly in search engines.

This means that when someone searches for the keywords or phrases that you have targeted, the search engine shows your site on top.

At a minimum you want your page to show on the first page of any search, especially Google. The other popular search engines are Yahoo, MSN, AOL and Ask Jeeves.

SEO is the art of fine tuning the content and text of your website along with the HTML and Meta tags. Your Websites title and description should focus on the keywords or phrase that you are targeting. Do not try to target too many words or phrases, keep it simple and targeted.

Use free keyword tools to find the most relevant and widely search words and phrases that are relevant to your website. Search engines keep ranking algorithms secret, as they need to ensure that spam pages and site do not clog their results. This means a website with only the one word or phrase listed 1000 times will not get ranked.

Hundreds of different factors or used when search engines are ranking the pages and each one is different. This difference is so great that a particular page may rank number 1 on Google but 100 on Yahoo.

It is important also to know that each search engine may change its methods regularly to ensure that only the most relevant pages are displayed. You do no need to submit your sites to search engines – they automatically trawl the internet looking for the most relevant sites to list.

Link building and generating backlinks is a great way to get ranked quickly. A quick way to do this is to establish a link exchange with a high page rank site where you display their link on your site and they display your link on their site.

One link from a high page rank website can get the search engines to visit your site and begin to spider its contents. This process can take up to a couple of weeks or even sometimes as quick as a couple of days!

I do not promote the use of SEO marketing and promotion companies, although some people may chose to use these. All I would say is to be careful with this and look into the plan they have for your site and how much this will cost you.

Some Tips To Rank High In Google

So lets go ahead and briefly talk about the SEO concept. SEO is the acronym for Search Engine Optimization, and thats what gets you the high ranks on Google and other search engines.

This kind of optimization depends on various aspects, and we will discuss some of them, so that you can understand what they mean and how you can make them work for you.

If I were asked which is the most important factor to improve your Google Rankings, I would definitely say Backlinks.

First up, think about some restless machines always scrutinizing the information on every website in existence.

This is exactly what the search engines are designed to do. They look at the content of websites and rank them by relevance of that content to the websites keywords. But theres much more than just the information you have on your websites pages.

For every subject you can imagine, including the one your website is about, there could be thousands or millions of other sites.

One other sign that a website relevant to the subject it deals with is if its referenced externally via links. Out of two sites on the same topic, the one that is referenced through more links over the internet will be considered more helpful for the users looking for info on that topic.

These are called, incoming links, inbound links or backlinks and they refer people from other sites to yours. The more quality your website has, the more backlinks you are supposed to get.

Google thinks of a link coming from some other website to your website as a vote and this is why backlinking plays a huge role on the way Google sets their rankings.

Think about Wikipedia and how they always show up within the first results for almost any search. Why do you think that is? 75,000,000 domain backlinks!!! (I know it is insane, but its TRUE!)

So now you know the importance of backlinks, but it is more important to know HOW to get them for your own website.

There are several ways to do that and the most common are:

- reciprocal links – links between two websites to ensure mutual traffic

- forum links – using signature links on forums

- commenting on blogs – go to high ranked blogs and add a link to your comment

- links from other pages, such as video sharing websites, article directories etc.

Naturally, the more such backlinks your site has,the higher it will be ranked on search engines. But pay attention, this doesnt mean you should buy some automatic tool and just get 1000 backlinks per day.

Bulding up backlinks at an unnaturally high rate or speed is suspect and Google has a very low tolerance of spam, going to such lengths as penalizing or even banning websites!

Basics Of Search Engine Optimization

Using Web 2.0 social sites as ranking platforms is an excellent idea when youre doing trend-based marketing. Why? Because Google virtually camps out on the front doorstep of many social media sites in order to get fresh, user-generated content.

Because of this, pages on Web 2.0 properties like Squidoo, Wists, or Hubpages often get indexed in under 24 hours–and they frequently rank well, too!

But you wont be the only internet marketer chasing these latest trends, whatever they may be. Youre going to have to target just a little better than all of your competitors will be.

To make matters even worse, you wont be able to rely on keyword tools like Wordtracker to tell you what key terms people are searching for in relation to your trend. After all, keyword tools just show you what people have been looking for, usually for the last three months.

Its the nature of a trend that it exists very much in the now. Three months ago, people werent looking for it as much. And they werent using the same terms that they are now. After all, they didnt know as much about it, and didnt know what kinds of things to look for in relation to it.

They may not even have been looking up that trend at all, so wordtracker might show you a big fat nothing when you try to look it up!

How can you target a trend when Wordtracker wont tell you a thing?

Your first line of intelligence should be the first page of Google. It will tell you a whole lot of what you need to know.

The easiest thing to look for is your terms related searches. Say for example youre looking up New Widget Player. If the related searches are, say, Blue New Widget Player, 3G New Widget Player, Where Can I Find New Widget Player, and Is New Widget Player a Scam?, then you now know four focused terms to use in your marketing.

Its Googles job to know what people are looking for. It gives people related searches based on what other people have looked for in association with this term. Googles related searches feature will help you narrow down and target your niche from several different angles, while still showing you keywords that have enough searches to be profitable.

Now you can go to Yahoo Answers. Search for your original term, and search for all of your related terms as well. This can give you even more terms to target. But more importantly, it will show you who your market is for this product, what theyre saying about it, what their concerns are, and–most importantly–what they want most in relation to this product.

Now its your job to make a good website, blog, and/or 20 or 30 Web 2.0 pages for each of these terms, and each of the common questions youve seen. Give people good information, answer their concerns, and show them an affiliate link. Youre bound to make money on whatever trend you target!
